Sunday marks three years since the Grenfell Tower fire on 14 June 2017. We join tomorrow in remembrance of the 72 men, women and children who had their lives cut short and those living with the pain and trauma of their loss.

INQUEST stand in solidarity with the bereaved, survivors and residents who tirelessly keep up the fight for justice, in order to ensure this preventable tragedy is never forgotten nor repeated.

Many of the affected individuals and families will no doubt be further traumatised both by the fear, loss, racism and discrimination associated with the killing of George Floyd, lives lost in the UK through state-related deaths and the Covid-19 pandemic which has significantly and disproportionately affected people from Black and Minority Ethnic and economically-marginalised communities.

It has also, of course, further delayed the Public Inquiry into the circumstances of the Grenfell Tower fire. As the inquiry prepares to resume next month, we continue to push for tangible change for those affected in light of the clear failure to keep them and their relatives safe. As a start, the government need to take clear action to ensure recommendations provided by phase one of the public inquiry are not overlooked or allowed to gather dust.

We extend our sympathy to all those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire at this incredibly difficult moment. We stand with you and will continue to give our support through the struggle for truth justice and accountability.
