“Thank you INQUEST most sincerely for kindling the flame that led the NHS trust to finally answer our questions. You have been a real backbone when we have felt like crumbling.” Bereaved mother

Thank you for considering making a donation to INQUEST. In donating today, you will be helping us to continue our vital work supporting people bereaved by a death in state care and driving systemic change to prevent future deaths.

Every year, we help hundreds of families of people who have died in custody, detention or following police contact. An inquest or investigation into the death in custody or detention can take months and often years. Families tell us that it is difficult to grieve whilst an inquest is ongoing, leaving them isolated from their communities and unable to move forward with their lives. Children and young people in particular can feel voiceless and families will tell us that schooling and friendships can suffer. Our support is vital to ensuring that bereaved people get the help and advice they need at a traumatic time.

We are a small charity, independent of government and entirely reliant on grants and donations. Any amount you can give will help us meet the high and growing demand for our services.
