Kevin Clarke mural

Kevin Clarke, a 35 year old black man, was experiencing a mental health crisis when he died following restraint by Metropolitan Police officers in Lewisham, South London, on 9 March 2018. An inquest concluded in October 2020 finding system wide failures, and a further report from the coroner is awaited.

Three years on from Kevin's death this online event, organised by his family alongside INQUEST, will discuss the circumstances and impact of his death, the wider context of racism in policing and the Black Lives Matter Movement, and how you can support Kevin's and other bereaved families in their work for justice in the UK.

Hosted by INQUEST, the event will have contributions from Tellecia Strachan, campaigner and sister of Kevin Clarke, Marcia Rigg, campaigner and sister of Sean Rigg.

More information on speakers and content to follow.

This event is free, but attendees may wish to consider donating to INQUEST or the National Family Memorial Fund to support this work.

Thank you for your interest in the Kevin Clarke memorial event. Unfortunately event places are currently all booked up, but we will make tickets available where they become free. Please check back on the event booking page or see our social media for updates.
